初夏的內蒙古自治區阿拉善戈壁溫度高達35攝氏度。記者一行行駛在荒涼的戈壁灘上，遠方突然出現奇特的海市蜃樓景象。

根據新華網報導，6月的阿拉善戈壁驕陽似火，裸露的土地上偶爾有一些灌木掙扎地生長。突然，在戈壁與天際交匯的地方，出現了一座金色的沙山，若隱若現，讓人驚嘆。正在車上的人們遐想之際，公路前方又出現了一座連綿的山峰，山腳下還有清澈的湖泊，山峰倒影在湖水中，呈現出別樣的景象。公路邊上，過路的人們紛紛停下車，掏出手機、相機爭相記錄下眼前難得一見的奇觀。當汽車衝著山峰賓士過去時，山峰、湖泊、沙山卻開始漸漸地消失，荒涼的戈壁灘重新回到眼前。

其實，不論是湖泊、還是山峰，都是戈壁、沙漠中蜃汽形成的幻影。當地的牧民告訴記者，到了夏季，阿拉善的沙漠地表溫度最高達到70攝氏度，白天沙石受太陽炙烤，沙層表面的氣溫迅速升高，經過光的折射，便將遠處的綠洲、水面呈現在人們眼前。
