MLB／惡作劇專家 37歲老丹高掛球鞋

在大聯盟球員之間以惡作劇聞名，37歲的Ryan Dempster本季完全沒有出賽，征戰大聯盟16個賽季，他決定高掛球鞋。

透過媒體披露，Dempster平時有「惡整」隊友的特殊興趣，拆掉汽車輪胎、破壞置物櫃等等，有各式各樣的奇異招式。

本季Dempster因為脖子問題，全年都沒有出賽紀錄，而且渴望能增加與家人相處的時間，這位惡作劇專家決定退休高掛球鞋。

Dempster在2012年跟紅襪簽下2年2650萬美元合約，2013年結束之後，並沒有執行2014年的合約，根據《Baseball Reference》網站資料顯示，Dempster今年是自由球員。

在大聯盟16年打過5支球隊，Dempster其中有長達9年在小熊，生涯入選2次明星賽，有7個賽季投超過200局，也有3年有至少24次救援成功。

通算Dempster的16年戰績，出賽579場(351場先發)拿下132勝133敗自責分率4.35，還有87次救援成功，2387局送出2075次三振。
